The Young Communist League of Europe (YCLE) is a European communist youth political organisation. Its public work concerns political documents, socialist theory, development and international exchange. This website brings together the League’s institutional information, its own texts and an annotated collection of primary sources.

Our work

The League’s publications distinguish an organisational statement from an explanatory briefing and an external document. Readers can consult a position in full, follow the evidence used in an article and identify who issued a source. These distinctions run through the collection, from the principal political texts to individual statistical references.

The work is arranged around a European remit, a permanent China collection and international correspondence. Editorial standards and a correction channel provide a common framework for all three.

Europe

Europe is the geographical frame of the League’s work. Its countries and institutions cannot be reduced to a single political or statistical jurisdiction. The European collection therefore distinguishes European Union documents, material from other European states and wider international instruments.

Two dossiers organise the reading: social and economic policy, and Europe’s international relations. Each connects explanatory text to identifiable public documents rather than treating a country name as a claim of organisational presence.

China

The League’s declared outlook gives a central place to the study of Chinese socialist theory and contemporary development. The China collection connects that outlook with documents concerning modernisation, economic development, public services, ecology, science and Europe–China relations.

The organisational position and the reference material have different functions. One records the League’s view; the other identifies the original authors, institutions and evidence.

International correspondence

Institutional correspondents can write about public documents, publication exchange, invitations and matters relevant to the League’s remit. A clear account of the sender, purpose and proposed arrangements helps an enquiry reach the appropriate person.
